MLS should establish a rule. If your club can’t outdraw the Portland Thorns, you’re out of the league.

I will say I wish players got carded more often for taking dives in the box. Eddie Johnson made a pathetic dive in the box early in the game. Then he had the nerve to whine and cry to the ref about the no-call. I really wish the league would fine these guys.

Maybe Landon Donovan has lost some of his nerve. I hope not. I always think of him as a US player first.

Yeah it seemed as though Orlando was all gung-ho about that stadium and then it just disappeared. Interesting.

I think it was a good call to give the penalty to LA, but man, that was not a good shot!

I was at the Union game and saw the Cruz double! As much as I hate to say it, the Seattle fans brought a big crowd and they made a lot of noise. Then again, if I flew 3000 miles to see a match, I’d be partying in my section with strippers and cocaine. As a true Philly fan, I just wanted to go over there and punch a few of the obnoxious ones square in the face. Am I wrong?

Did I say they’re building a stadium in Orlando? Nevermind. I don’t blame them for nixing it. They probably still can’t understand how they got robbed blind by the Miami Marlins. I’d tell all Florida franchises to build your own sh*t too.

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the Canadian soccer championship. How many clubs does Canada even have? I mean, is there a Flin Flon FC out there ready for a tournament upset?

In the US Open Cup, an MLS team is going to win it every time. It’s just another MLS tournament. Does anyone outside of Seattle actually care about this tournament?

I always thought it would be cool to create a series where every MLS team played a different lower division club. It’s like an MLS vs. Clubs series. It captures the spirit of the Open. It only needs one date set aside, for all clubs. Realistically, clubs can win a single game — not an entire tournament. We don’t have to everything the European way, do we?

1. He doesn’t flop. He’s all about putting the ball in the net, not drawing fouls. To me, if you’re constantly trying to draw fouls, then you don’t have the chops to score goals. Look at Messi. He fights through everyone — and well, he’s Messi.

2. He has total composure. When he gets his chances, it almost seems like he becomes more relaxed, not more flustered. Watching Sunday’s game, you could see the stark contrast between him and others who just got totally panicky once they got the ball around the net.

3. He has confidence. He’s only 20 years old and wants to win the Golden Boot this year. Like all great goal scorers, you have to believe you’re the best!
